I offer a comprehensive repair and welding service for maintenance and metal fabrication and I will undertake industrial, commercial, plant, marine, vehicle (MOT) or domestic welding. Depending on material and the situation, there’s MIG welding, TIG welding, ARC welding or brazing for fabrication and repair of Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron or Aluminium.

My equipment is mobile, light and portable and all powered from a 240volt domestic supply, allowing the repair of an item at your location should this be appropriate. I am covered by a full Public Liability. Insurance for all work carried out, including work in marinas and boat yards.

I have building maintenance experience and can carry out structural steel welding, modifications and repairs. I also use CAD for layouts and design of components, and offer FREE FRIENDLY ADVICE. Call Ron on 07711 550856.

Sometimes welding isn’t appropriate especially if heat is an issue, but often an item can be repaired by other mechanical means, drilling and tapping or fabricating a support from other materials, bridging a broken section or replacing a component altogether. Sometimes cast items do not lend themselves to welding and require bespoke methods of fixing.

I have over 20 years of experience and if I don’t feel that welding is appropriate I’ll tell you.

My old Dad taught me some good life lessons. If you need to buy something, you save for it, if you want something done learn how to do it yourself… and if you break something, learn how to fix it.

My experience of welding began with a 12 month course at Southend-on-Sea Technical College. I owned a Harley Davidson and was always modifying and creating one off parts. Welding was a means to achieve this.

My Father and I had a local building firm, but a motorcycle accident stopped that line of endeavor and later studied engineering at college, eventually working at an official Harley Davidson dealership and became a factory trained technician.

Years later a colleague and I started Boss Bikes in Southend-on-Sea. We tuned Harley engines and built custom Harley’s motorcycles and I enjoyed the challenge of fabricating components. I undertook welding, turning and metalwork together with fiberglass molding to make one off parts.

We closed the shop but I continued welding and fabricating, working with local companies in all aspects of metal work including structural steel, repair work and specialist fabrication in materials such as aluminium and steel for marine engineering or catering, and mild steel for architectural and decorative ironwork and bespoke work. I learnt Computer Aided Design drawing enabling the accurate laying out of components and machining and turning.
